SPRINGFIELD, Va. — NGA awarded a contract for Global Enhanced Geospatial-Intelligence Delivery to Maxar Technologies on Aug. 23. GEGD is a geospatial "production service" and the value is the timely orthorectified (map ready) imagery that it produces and makes available.
This is a four-year contract including one 12-month base and three 12-month options. The total estimated value of the contract is $186.4 million, including the base period and all unexercised options. The contract work will be performed in Longmont and Westminster, Colorado.
SPRINGFIELD, Va. — NGA provided an initial $11.1 million in funding to The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a new effort with the Blue Waters Project, the University of Minnesota and The Ohio State University to produce digital elevation models (DEMs) of the entire Earth, among other geospatial research projects.
The first project between the NGA and NCSA will be EarthDEM, a follow-up to the ArcticDEM project, which was conducted on Blue Waters by the Polar Geospatial Center at the University of Minnesota.

The aeronautical text contract provides continuation services needed to meet NGA’s requirement for aeronautical data translations, source processing, and flight information publication texts and DVDs.
